Andrey Novikov


"I try to collide the temporal and eternal principles in my artworks, to show their instant unity and heterogeneity. I care about the fate and personality of my heroes. What happened to them after I left them on the canvas? Have they changed? Maybe they are no longer in this world, and they are only drawn by me?"

Andrey Novikov was born in 1985. In 2004, he graduated with honors from the Pyatigorsk Art School, and in 2008  – from the North Caucasus Federal University. From 2008 to 2018, he worked at the Department of Design of the North Caucasus Federal University. Since 2008, he has been a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. He was awarded the Creative Union of Artists of Russia gold medal and the diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts "For contribution to Russian culture". Finalist of the contest «PortraitNow2019» in Frederiksborg (Denmark) and winner of the pencil drawing contest "Form and Character" in Moscow.


His artworks are in private Russian and international collections. Lives and works in the city of Yessentuki (North Caucasus).
