Dmitriy Gutov

Dmitry Gutov works across various media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and video. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of art history, calligraphy, and literature, Gutov actively employs visual quotation in his practice. The artist appropriates recognizable images from art history, Russian icon painting, and Eastern calligraphy, offering new "readings" of them through large-scale spatial installations, paintings, drawings, and metal sculptures.
