Yuri Grigoryan lives and works in Moscow. In 1969 he graduated from the theater department of the Moscow Art School 1905, and in 1976 – Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, workshop Professor N. Ponomarev. The institute was the beginning of creative activity: the first Youth participation in the exhibition of Moscow artists in 1972. Featuring rare capacity for work and hard work, by the end of high school Grigoryan Yu was able to report to the exhibition in the magazine “Youth” more than 70 paintings. Within two years after Yuri Grigoryan this was a scholar of the Union of Artists USSR. For the work “Armenian woman” Yuri Grigoryan awarded the Gold Medal at the exhibition “Contemporary Soviet art “in Japan in 1987. The main features underscore the creative artist – a bright colouristic saturation, complex texture, harmonious composition built. For all the variety of genres (Grigorian wrote and landscapes and still lifes and nude model and genre paintings) are especially good at portraits of female artist. More than 50 works by Yuri Grigoryan are in the collections of public museums and galleries of Russia and the former Soviet Union, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Oriental Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, National Gallery of Armenia, and others. A significant number of works by Yuri Grigoryan are in the famous art galleries of various countries – Gallery Actuel G. Basmadzhana (France), Nicolay & amp; Son (Germany), Show Office Montreal (Canada), New Generation Cultural Society (Australia) Roy Miles Gallery (England) Schnittke Museum (Germany), Museum of Bernd-Artin Wessels (Germany), Denver Museum M. (USA) as well as in many corporate and private (for example, Mikhail Gorbachev, Al Gore, and others.) collections in Moscow, St. St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Sochi and abroad – in Croatia, Germany, USA, France, Italy, Canada, Turkey, Montenegro, Great Britain, Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, South Korea. Creativity Yuri Grigorian devoted two monographs, although full bibliographic list includes more than 40 names. Among the authors – leading art historians and journalists of the country, and writers. And in the family archive of the artist kept a written confession to be sympathetic to his works by Aram Khachaturian, Yuri Dombrowski, Andrei Dementiev. As before, most recently Yu Grigoryan is active exhibition activities, successfully participates in international auctions. In August 2006, awarded the title “Honored Artist of Russia” presidential decree. In October 2010, he received the title of Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.
